Adorable Kiwi book! Kiwis are used to illustrate different sports and leisure activities New Zealanders enjoy doing at night including, visiting restaurants, going to the gym, playing computer games and watching videos. But baby kiwis don't go anywhere at night, they're tucked up in bed fast asleep.
Michael Salmon was born in Wellington and educated in New Zealand, England and Australia. He began his career in Australia with an exhibition of paintings and cartoons in Canberra (1967) at the age of eighteen.
Since then, he has spent a lot of time in both New Zealand and Australia writing and illustrating books for young people, inventing board- games and jigsaw puzzles, and visiting many schools. One of his earlier book characters Alexander Bunyip had his own show on ABC Television around Australia for nine years.
Michael is married to Jan, has two daughters, four stepchildren and three cats. He played tight head prop in a rugby team for 29 years, however, he says he's now too old and it's much safer to watch the game on television.
